Polymerclay covered frontpage - tutorial

Better late than never. But I need a big pat on the head. I have been cursing this movie so I hope someone gets inspired of it. I was at my parents this weekend so I took the opportunity to edit the video because my computer cant handle the format. It took a few hours and when I finally got it up on youtube the clips had gone wrong in the movie so you could see the end before the beginning. Alot more trouble came after that but now it is at last uploaded. And as I said, ask if you have any questions!

Now to try and answer the questions that Elbeth had erlier: (if you have not looked into her blog do that, she shows so many beutiful creations!)

1. How does it look in the step before the oven.
I hope the video can show this.

2. How do you do with oven so the paper / binder will not burn up / roast?
I've actually never thought about this and it has actually never been a problem. I usually use cardboard of various thicknesses. All that is a problem is that when it cools after the oven the polymer clay bends the cardboard. If you dont have so many decorations you can put a book over until it cools down. I usually bend and strech the project until it cools. View the 2 video. You can be pretty rough (to certain limits). Some covers of books is a thicker quality and will not bend. Do not forget, however, to remove the page from the binding before baking.

3. After Work?
It is a choice if you do not have a micapulver that you cand brush on before the baking. You can in this stage paint, decorate further or possibly use some metallvax as Higlights.

4. What can I bake with the polymer clay? What should you add later?
I have used dew drops (plastic) and this will shrink and behavie weird but it is possible for the eyes of a skull.

Otherwise I prefer glass. Small glass beads, glasdecoration (which you buy as decoration for flowers and home). mosaic, metal. You do not have to have the oven over 100 degrees, and it works with lower around 75 (convection oven). Try it (with some sense of course, a candle can not be put in the oven:)) But a vase, drinking glass, stoneware. When I use glass, I let it cool in the oven before I'll take it out. Partly because the temperature may go down slowly and then because I reluctantly takes the glass out when it is hot;)
