Today we celebrated both the my husband and our daughter in a large family gathering. Or actually we invited, as usual, just the closest family, but we are about 20 persons with the children included. So I have cooked goulash soup and baked bread. I'm tired and quite ready for the sofa but I just wanted to show you all this flower bath. Because in the middle of the cooking I found out how I wanted to dye my flowers for an ongoing project. I always make my own spray paint but because all of them stopped working, I came up with this solution instead. The rest of you (who likes as much as me to dye flowers) have probably already thought of the idea, but I'm a little slow.

So I took a bowl and mixed the "gum arabic" in a little water ( the powder gets clumpy ). If you use the perfect pearl this step is not needed.

Next step is to mix in the pearlex. I have started to use peralex befor perfect pearl because it is much more colorful and less expensive. Here I used sparkling copper and super copper. Then I added some more water, walnutstain and fired brick distressink. Half-dose fired brick compared with the walnut stain, because I want the dark with a slightly red tone.

Then it's just to stir and dip the flowers. Try to shake off as much paint mixture as possible. Sometimes you have to help the small wet leaves so it can dry beautifully. Who does not want to dip their flowers in that sparkling mixture?!?
